SHIMA(vocal/guitar) and MARCY(drum) started the
band with YAS(bass)in the summer 1999.
SHIMA named the band BUDDHISTSON...because he loves BUDDA. BUDDHISTSON
got new
guitarist YOSHII a week before 1st
recording...

BUDDHISTSON signed the label LASTRUM co.ltd. in 2002 and released
2nd album tittled
"yes, but I'm alive" in FEB 2003.
and got keyboard player YUMI before 2nd recording...
They were invited from the biggest festival in Singapore 2002, 2003
and 2004.
They shared biggest stage with BRANDTSON in 2002, with THE GLORIA
RECORD in 2003
with LAST DAYS OF APRIL in 2004.
BUDDHISTSON started self-label named "MUSIC FOR GORILLAS"
and released SPLIT CD
w/ WHENCE HE CAME(HONG KONG) tittled "THIS IS WHERE WE RISE"
in AUG 2004...
WHENCE HE CAME and BUDDHISTSON toured in ASIAN countries (JAPAN
- SINGAPORE
BANGKOK THAILAND - KL MALAYSIA) in JUL 2004.
MUSIC FOR GORILLAS released WHENCE HE CAME's 2nd ALBUM "THE
SHORTER STORY"
in FEB 2005 and released KAMOMEKAMOME's first album that BUDDHISTSON's
drummer
MARCY and YAS's new band in the SUMMER 2005.
BUDDHISTSON recorded 14 songs for new album self tittled "BUDDHISTSON"
in JAPAN...
and songs were mixed and mastered in HOLLAND by a dutch producer
MARTIJN GROENEVELD...
It released 2nd NOV. 2005 in Japan...
In the early summer 2006, BUDDHISTSON recorded and put one cover
song of THE PLICE
for A TRIBUTE TO THE POLICE "POLITIA" of japanese edition.
BUDDHISTSON had first CHINA tour that HONG KONG - MACAU - GUAGNZHOU
in SEP-OCT 2006.
they played the Biggest festival in Macau. and released self-titled
EP in CHINA.
Since they had one man show in TOKYO in DEC. 2006, They started
to use motion graphics
on back drop while they are playing.
BUDDHISTSON had a show with contemporary dance groupe "THE
BAMBIEST"
at OKURAYAMA KINENKAN.
they played songs with dancers.
After this show, they decided to stop live shows officially for
a while...
AUG 2008, they started recording for new album.
Shima went to Mailmen Studio (Utrecht, the Netherlands) to work
with producer,
Martijn Groeneveld.
they will release 4th album tittled [SLOWDANCE -wisely and slow,
they stumble that dance fast-]on 7th JAN 2009. by MUSIC FOR GORILLAS

1999年にスタート。
翌年ギターにYOSHIIを迎え、2001年にはキーボードにYUMIが正式加入。
今の形になった。
日本にまだEMOという言葉が浸透していない2000年秋にファーストアルバムをリリース。
翌年には事情により絶版。既に完成されたスタイルは国内外で知る人ぞ知るアル
バムとなった。
2002年より、兼ねてからオファーの多かった、香港、シンガポール、マレーシア、タイ
などのフェスやイベントにも参加。各国の有名アーティストなどと共演。
海外からの熱い支持もある彼らの楽曲はエモ、プログレ、ロック、オルタナティブの枠に
丸く収まることはない。独自の作曲法で、放つオリジナリティーを持った楽曲は聞く度に
どんどん人を引き込む力を持っている。
去年はレーベルメイトであり、盟友である香港のWHENCE HE CAMEとスプリットCD
[THIS IS WHERE WE RISE ]をリリースし、日本、シンガポール、タイ、マレーシアに
渡るアジアツアーを決行した。
2005年11月プロデューサーにオランダのMartijn Groeneveld
(マータイン・グルノベルト)氏を迎えセルフタイトルアルバム「BUDDHISTSON」を発売
2006年5月BANDWAGONと2マン企画「STATEMENT!!!」を渋谷LUSHにて行う。ソールドアウト。
10月、アジアツアー（香港、中国：広州、マカオ）
2006年12月 初のワンマン「STEREO」を新宿MARZで決行。初めて映像とコラボレーション
したライブを行う。（これよりほぼ毎回VJ:CONSENT GFXとコラボ）
2007年2月 APPLESEED CAST, LOVE DRUGのオープニング
2007年4月 3度目となる香港でのライブ。フェスに出演。
2007年8月 コンテンポラリーダンスカンパニーのthe BAMBIESTと
コラボレーションライブを大倉山記念館という西洋館で行う。80人限定のライブは即完売。
これを境に、ニューアルバム製作の為、ライブ活動を一時休止。
2008年 8月レコーディング開始
10月 廃盤になっていてレア価格が付けられていたアルバムが再発！
OCEANLANEのイベントにてライブ活動を正式に再開。
翌日から飛行機でオランダに飛び、再びマータインの元でミックスとマスタリングを行った。
2009年1月7日 ニューアルバム
[SLOWDANCE -wisely and slow, they stumble that dance fast-]
発売決定。
